Money ???

I know nothing about the heady world of high finance or how the banking industry works, intrest rates, Inflation, stock and shares etc.etc.etc.  So when the recession hit I just went "oh OK". I was all blamed on the bankers for doing what ever it is they do. The tax payer was then called in to bail out the banks. This means that apparently we now own the banks.... but we don't really, all money once belonged to tax payers so we own everything really if you think about it. Now whenever the banks spend a load of money on something people start jumping up and down and moaning about how it's our money and they shouldn't pay bonus's etc.etc.  SO why has no one complained about the 6 nations rugby, this is sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland, they probably spend more money on that than they do on bonus's.
I say if you're not going to complain about everything then don't complain about something. You wouldn't catch me moaning....

Another thing thats been bugging me for ages is all this fuss over MP's expenses. To be perfectly honest if I worked for a company that let you claim expenses then I would. Loads of company directors put everything through expenses, it's a common practice in the world of self employed people. There are loop holes you can drive a truck through to get things past the tax man, so why do people complain about the MP's ? Ok so some of the things they've claimed for seem a bit suspect, but they have all been within the guide lines of thier rules. I'll tell you why, it's this belief that its the tax payers money that they are spending. Technically yes it is the tax payers money, but MP's are also tax payers and they get paid around £65 grand a year which means they are in the higher tax bracket, so pay a darn sight more tax than me. This works out to nearly £20 grand a year tax they pay,  so frankly if one of the claims a few hundred quid for the garden to be done who cares. If they've found a loop hole for claiming on second homes then good for them. Should they pay it back ? I don't think so, it was all within their rules at the time.
The 3 MP's that are being done for fraud should be done for fraud as it's a crime they claimed for things that they didn't have, but leave the others alone, it's just silly. Simon Cowell pays more in tax a year than all the MP's have claimed for.

Sorry never heard of him..

For those of you that have met me then you know I don't follow fashion... So when the news broke yesterday of Alexander McQueen I thought 'Sorry never heard of him'. He's all over the papers today, so I've read some of them and seen his creations and frankly I've still never heard of him. Apparently his Mum died last week and he couldn't cope, which is fair enough, but don't you think its a bit selfish to kill yourself the day before your mums funeral...

Anyway, someone else who died today is this chap , Mr. Morrison.
No he's not some wierdo sci-fi nut, he's the man who invented the frisby in the 60's. He was aged 90 and died in his home in Utah.
So we applaud you Mr.Morrison.

Something else which caught my eye today was a story about a zoo in China where tourist can pick an animal off a menu (mainly chickens and cows) and watch it thrown live into the Tiger enclosure. How sick is that, if they did this at London Zoo it would be over every single news paper in the world. Is this animal cruelty or just natural behavoir ?  I don't know, but I do know I don't like it.

There's a few things that puzzle me....

The other day the launch of Space Shuttle was delayed due to it being cloudy.
How's that work then ?
Surely  they don't need to see where they are going ?
The speed the shuttle goes when it takes off means it must only take a few seconds to go through any cloud cover. The launch is controlled from ground control and all done by millions of dollars worth of equipment that control the pricise direction of the shuttle.
So how can it being a bit cloudy stop the launch ???

If someone had asked me a few weeks ago who the captain of the England Football team was I wouldn't of had a clue, as I don't do football. But now thanks to the power of the media it turns out that its a chap called John Terry. No idea what he's been up too as I haven't paid much attention to the story, but something to do with women. I'd just like to say that I really don't care. I don't know anything about the man so I'm not bothered what he gets up too. So now I know who the England captain is, but apparently he isn't anymore, so I'm back in the dark again over football which suits me fine. I'll stick to Formula 1 and the Rugby, and a bit of Tennis and American Football.
